Mary Beth Makes It Easy to Sponsor a Child

Our goal is for each of the 150 children attending Chacocente Christian School to be sponsored. Mary Beth, Sponsorship Coordinator, is happy to help! She donates countless hours pairing the students with caring sponsors and provides opportunities for contact that helps build a lasting relationship between the two. To do this, she obtains brief biographies and photographs of the children, facilitates communication between the sponsors and their students, and writes periodic school updates to keep everyone well informed. In addition, she maintains a database, and communicates directly with the staff in Nicaragua and the Project Chacocente board of directors in the United States. We are grateful for her partnership!

Why sponsor a child?

Your sponsorship will provide a child living in poverty with the opportunity for an education –an opportunity they otherwise would not have. All research shows that alleviating poverty begins with education. We strive to provide quality, academic offerings, free of charge, to the children of Project Chacocente as well as those living in the surrounding neighborhood.

But, just as important, your sponsorship will bring indescribable joy to a child. Just knowing that someone cares enough to offer a helping hand means everything to each boy and girl. And, your life, too, will be changed as you realize that the gift you have given is directly impacting the life of a child in need.

How much does it cost and how is the money used?

Your $30 monthly gift (payable monthly or annually) is directly applied to the cost of running Chacocente Christian School. It provides the textbooks, desks, electricity and academic instruction for the day-to-day running of the school. We offer a tuition-free, full day program based on the Gospel, with qualified teachers. In addition, we include a nutritious lunch, the only meal of the day for many of our students.

We sincerely hope you will consider this opportunity to partner with us in providing much-needed education to Nicaraguan children in need! To sign up to sponsor a child or to learn more, contact Mary Beth Kelley at [email protected] or click on the “Get Involved” link on www.outofthedump.org
