Giving Tuesday 2018
Dear Friends,
We hope you each had a blessed Thanksgiving. As we enjoy the warmth of our homes and abundance of our tables, we ask you to reflect on our friends in Nicaragua. Due to the political unrest since April, the families, staff and students of Chacocente have endured unexpected hardships. Through it all, they have remained hopeful, and determined to continue to lift up themselves and their community.
We invite you to join us in celebrating their achievements and dreams for the future. Project Chacocente is taking part in #GivingTuesday, a global charitable event fueled by the power of social media. Celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesdaycomes at the beginning of a season of joy, gratitude and personal reflection – a time when many people focus on their holiday and end-of-the-year giving.
We want particularly to celebrate Juan Carlos, our Family Coordinator and Community Developer. Alwayseager to help, and always with a smile, Juan Carlos represents the hope and the success of this ministry. Respected by his peers and North American friends, he works hard each and every day to further the vision of Chacocente. He has called this ministry “the best thing in my life.”
Please give generously, so that Juan Carlos and others, including the students of Chacocente Christian School and the people of community around the school, can continue to work their way out of poverty. All donations received on #GivingTuesday, November 27thwill be included in a special Match Campaign. Every dollar you give will be matched with another $2; your $100 donation becomes $300, your $500 donation becomes $1,500, and so on.
Donations may be made online at www.outofthedump.org.
