It has been a year of wonders for the families of the Project and the students of Chacocente Christian School! In January the families were presented the long awaited deeds to their property by Founder Cheryl Avery. Overcoming hunger, malnutrition and homelessness, they now are proud landowners! The final year of high school, Grade 11, was added to the school and on December 11th, seven students will be the first graduates to receive high school diplomas. Each school day, 150 students were fed a nutritious lunch. Several families received free counseling by a professional psychologist. Twenty-three Nicaraguans are gainfully employed by the Project. Despair has been replaced with Hope!
To continue this ministry and to expand we need your support!
In the year ahead we will reach out to our neighbors who live in dire poverty in the larger community that surrounds Project Chacocente. With your help, we will build a church on the Chacocente campus where all may give thanks and worship God. We will renovate or build homes for our teachers living near Chacocente Christian School. We will address the need for a reliable source of safe drinking water in the surrounding neighborhood.
